'I haven't had the easiest life,' he says, his raw Australian voice rising to a passionate falsetto. 'It didn't start off that great, having all this shit with my dad and being in his shadow.'

Bootsy tells life story to TV’s ‘Unsung’ (The Cincinnati Enquirer)

The first-ever documentary on the life of Bootsy Collins will air nationally at 8 p.m. Sunday on TV One. It's the most comprehensive look ever at Collins' life, covering his childhood in Cincinnati; his years touring with James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic and his own band, and a motorcycle accident that threatened his career but helped him conquer drug addiction.
